Anne W. Burrell is a American TV personality who is a chef, and a ex-teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides concise easy-to-master techniques for the at-home cook on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell studied and worked at the top New York restaurants. He has also competed in Iron Chef America and the cuisine of Italy. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food from an early age. After obtaining an English and Communication degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the business of restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America. She states "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. It was during this time that her experience in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, which has had an impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to enhance living conditions for children facing challenges.
